Picky, picky

As the mom of a toddler, I love other parents’ meal tips. Terese Hollander and her husband, Dionisio Esperas, are local chefs who have a finicky eater themselves. This is how they keep things simple:

“We make Happy Peanut Noodles with chow mein, peanut butter, sesame oil and hoisin. She loves the texture of grabbing handfuls of these and stuffing them in her mouth. It’s fun to eat!

“She really loves to watch and help eat peas right from the pod as we shell them. We mix blanched peas with just a bit of mint and butter. Fresh peas are great, but you can use frozen peas, too.

“We discovered that she had fun dipping in chips and sucking off guacamole. For a quick treat, we mash half an avocado with a fork and season with lime juice, salt and pepper.”
