Pickleback

Preservation & Co. is by far one of my favorite small businesses in Sacramento. Though owner Jason Poole's award-winning Bloody Mary mix is arguably the most popular of his wares, I'm more drawn to the pickle selection whenever I happen to visit the warehouse. The Caribbean-spiced pickles ($11), for example, are always present in my fridge. Spiced with cinnamon, thyme and habanero pepper, they're perfect added to pasta dishes, sammiches, or used as an extravagant garnish for a simple martini. 1717 19th Street, Suite B; www.preservationandco.com.
