Thomas Gibbons’ play examines privilege and race in America through the lens of art when a private art foundation is bequeathed to a historically black college. Celebration Arts’ production has a wonderful ensemble, especially DeAngelo Mack (Sterling) and Gregory Smith (Paul) as the two major sources of conflict, and Daryl Petrig as the now-deceased founder with a wicked sense of humor. Scene changes are a little clunky, but otherwise a fine production. Th, F, Sa 8pm; Su 2pm. Through 6/4. $8-$15. Celebration Arts Theatre, 4469 D St.; (916) 455-2787; www.celebrationarts.net.
