Earth is more than 4 billion years old, yet celebrating Earth Day was only initiated 40 years ago. To be fair, it may be because humans haven’t been around for 4 billion years. Still, it took our species long enough to learn to appreciate Mother Earth. Celebrate the planet Sunday, April 11, from noon to 5 p.m. at the Sacramento Earth Day Festival, featuring local bands, booths displaying green technology, health and wellness, sustainability information, food, and activities. The free festival will be at Southside Park, Sixth and T streets. There also will be free bike valet. For more information, visit www.sacramentoearthday.net.
