Paperclip Messiah
Catholicism beware as the Lambda Players resurrect the unique, satirical and dramatic Paperclip Messiah, an original play by local writer Matthew Burlingame. Father Patrick (Steve Thompson) is trapped between his twisted religious faith and his gay identity. He does his best to keep the word of the Lord, but alter ego (and comic relief, played by Chad-Jayson Smith) gets the best of him. Once new janitor, Joel (Steve Lozano), arrives, Father Patrick’s “lust of the flesh” cannot be tamed. Join the laughs and gasps at this adults-only production, and remember to leave your rosaries at the door. F, Sa 8pm (no shows 6/12 and 6/19); Su 6/20 2pm. Through 6/26. $13-$15.
