Owl be seeing you

It’s the lads from Low Flying Owls, swinging through town after a triumphant appearance in Texas.
Fresh from South by Southwest, Low Flying Owls return to Sacramento to play a pair of shows. The once-local post-psychedelic quartet, which (mystifyingly) was compared to that tightly mannered Bay Area band Black Rebel Motorcycle Club by a couple of writers who caught the Owls’ act in Texas, hits the Blue Lamp, 1400 Alhambra Boulevard, on Friday, April 2, with Dungeons & Drag Queens. The 21-and-over show starts at 9:30 p.m., and the cover’s $6. The following night (Saturday, April 3) the Owls play an all-ages show at the Boardwalk, 9426 Greenback Lane in Orangevale, with the Proles and Diddley Squat; the show starts at 8:30 p.m., and tix are $10. For you can’t-leave-the-grid types, Latin-funk band Raigambre plays the Blue Lamp on Saturday with Los Angeles band Quinto Sol and DJ Larry Rodriguez; the 21-and-over show starts at 9:30, and the cover is $8. And another local band that played South by Southwest, Quitter, plays Old Ironsides on Friday, April 2, with IO and Killing Buddha; call the club for time and cover.
