Osmosis Jones
A disgusting slob (Bill Murray) comes down with a deadly virus, and we see his brush with death from the inside and out — outside being his faltering relationship with his young daughter (Elena Franklin), while inside is an animated version of the human body, with the fight against infection being led by a white corpuscle “cop” (voice by Chris Rock). The film’s problem is that there’s no real story, just two half-stories that never mesh. Even the visual styles don’t match, with live action directed by Peter and Bobby Farrelly in their usual repulsive style, while Piet Kroon and Tom Sito give the animated segments a quaintly witty Jetsons look. The end is never in doubt, nor do we care — building suspense and character relationships will probably never be the Farrellys’ long suit.
