If you’re not jetting to a Memorial Day GOP fund-raiser, why not swing over to Davis for some sonic bliss? “Pollynation” features two free venues during the day—the E Street Plaza (between 2nd and 3rd streets) starting at 11:30 a.m. and Espresso Roma (on E Street adjacent to the Plaza) at 3:30 p.m., and one $9 show at 7:30 p.m. at the Varsity Theatre, 616 2nd St. The number of acts is staggering: Pacific Avenue Jazz Quartet, Beatrice 9, Gusto, Idealistik, G.L.U.G., Maxwell’s Demon, Sandy Coldiron & the Bitter End, the Brodys, Sugarbone, Akimbo!, DJ Tao (E Street), False Dawn, Samir, Micah & Brian, Beau Kintsler, Monica Ravel, Nora (Espresso Roma), Simpleton, the Tasters, the Bunny, Lazybones, Concept VI, Uncle Harlen’s Band, Legubitron and Total Package (Varsity).
