Old-school triple feature
There’s nothing like watching a great old movie on the big screen. Even better, though, are three old movies on the big screen. Mystic Cinema, which features vintage films once a month at Roseville’s Tower Theatre, will show Arsenic and Old Lace, The Iron Giant and King Kong. It’s a classic movie smorgasbord. The event may be a little pricy for a classic-movie screening (you have to pay for each individual movie), but it’s totally worth it. True, you could fork over less than half the fees for a Netflix subscription, but the experience is just not the same. Plus, $5 for a matinee and $7 for an evening feature is way cheaper than the regular movies. Get your ass to Roseville, support vintage theater and soak in some of the best classic movies, because who knows when you’ll see another good movie on the big screen.
Arsenic and Old Lace will show at 2 p.m. for $5; The Iron Giant will show at 7 p.m. for $7; and King Kong will show at 10 p.m. for $7 on Thursday, May 27. Tower Theatre, 421 Vernon Street in Roseville; (916) 521-4964; http://mysticcinema.com/may27.
