Nope, not safe

There’s no such thing as being too worried about disasters, it seems.

In a ranking of U.S. cities most likely to suffer a major natural disaster (described as “hurricanes, major flooding, catastrophic hail, tornado super-outbreaks and earthquakes”), Sacramento ranks just inside the top 10.

Most likely to experience a swift kick in the ribs from Mother Nature:

1. Miami, FL
2. New Orleans, LA
3. Oakland, CA
4. San Francisco, CA
5. Honolulu, HI
6. San Jose, CA
7. Tie: Los Angeles, CA; Houston, TX
8. Long Beach, CA
9. Tie: Tulsa, OK; Oklahoma City, OK; Columbus, OH
10. Sacramento

And the cities least likely to suffer a natural disaster (though it looks like they left “drought” out of the equation):

46. Tie: Philadelphia, PA; Minneapolis, MN; Fresno, CA; Detroit, MI
47. Colorado Springs, CO
48. Tie: Tucson, AZ; Phoenix, AZ; El Paso, TX; Cleveland, OH
49. Milwaukee, WI
50. Mesa, AZ
