Wine snobbery is quite popular these days. Suddenly everyone’s joining wine-of-the-month clubs and spending weekends on tasting expeditions. The same people who guzzled Boone’s Farm and Gallo in their youth now insist on letting wine breathe, as if they never drank the last drops of Franzia straight from the plastic bag. It’s OK; we all have our pretenses. Wine snobs can indulge theirs at Grape Escape: A Capital Region Wine and Food Celebration. Join your fellow wine snobs in sampling wines from eight California counties. Fifteen gourmet restaurants will offer appetizers to complement the pourings of 50 wineries; $20 buys unlimited tasting.
