New summer job?
Are you after my job as a restaurant reviewer? I’m not planning to vacate it right now, but if you just can’t restrain your critical urges, you have a chance to put them to use on a national stage. Zagat, the well-known series of slender burgundy restaurant guidebooks, has launched its first-ever Sacramento survey on its Web site. Although they’ve done Northern California and (of course) San Francisco guides for years, they’ve never included Sacramento. Now, there are dozens of restaurants listed on the site, from Aioli Bodega Espanola to Zelda’s Gourmet Pizza, and once you’ve registered, you can rate them (on food, service, ambience and price) and roll out your best witty encomiums or ripostes. Do it soon, though: If you participate by June 15, you’ll get a free copy of the 2009 America’s Top Restaurants when it’s published. To vote, go to www.zagat.com and look for the Sacramento link on the left-hand side.
