This introspective solo piece stars Danielle Truitt as an African-American girl growing up in the segregated South of the 1950s and 1960s. Playwright Charlayne Woodard has big social issues like segregation and civil rights looming in the background, but this is primarily a personal story about a girl coming of age alongside her “special” aunt.
