Nature lovers have two chances to get off their butts this week and enjoy the great outdoors. And for free. Stone Lakes National Wildlife Refuge will host a guided canoe and kayak on Lower Beach Lake Saturday, June 26, at 9 a.m. Participants will see river otters, beavers, pond turtles and more. Bring a canoe or kayak and floatation device. There also will be a seasonal wetland hike at the same time. A docent will lead hikers along a 2-mile roundtrip trail in the wetlands to view varieties of birds. Bring binoculars and field guides. For more information and details about meeting locations, call (916) 775-4420 or visit www.fws.gov/stonelakes.
