David Rees’ ongoing Internet comic strip Get Your War On (see www.mnftiu.cc) attaches mordantly hilarious captions to clip-art figures of business people to deliver the kind of cynical commentary on American empire that even Tom Tomorrow and Ted Rall shy away from making. Before Get Your War On, Rees used the same approach in Crumbly Comics, which combine bad karate clip art with insults from the profanity-turbocharged tradition of verbal pimp-slapping. In those strips, reproduced in this thin collection, Rees’ recurring character Normal Man (a clip-art Bruce Lee) teams up with Karate Snoopy to kick ass and deliver anyone who offends a member of the Shaolin Temple to ambulances waiting nearby. Your ass will be demolished, too, once you stop laughing. Very funny.
