Movie Star Junkies in Sacramento

Recently in Austin at the South by Southwest festival, I had the pleasure of waiting in line for more than an hour only to miss half of Seattle rock band the Sonic’s 30-minute set. It was worth it, however, because they’re legends. So what does this have to do with Italian blues-rock outfit Movie Star Junkies? Well, they—who’ll jam with Th’ Losin Streaks this Thursday at Luigi’s Fun Garden—are of the Sonics’ mold: textured riffs, rock backbeats, gruff vocals. From Turin, Italy, Junkies kick off their U.S. tour in Sacramento. Feel special.
