Monkeybone

Cartoonist Stu Miley (Brendan Fraser) is knocked unconscious in a car accident and awakens in a chaotic netherworld. He must then outwit Death (Whoopi Goldberg) and his own obnoxious comic strip simian (voiced by John Turturro) in order to return to reality and his girlfriend (Bridget Fonda) before either the lusty Monkeybone takes over his body or his sister (Will and Grace‘s Megan Mullally) pulls his life support plug. The Nightmare Before Christmas director Henry Selick combines live action, stop motion effects, and computer-generated animation into a colorful visual cousin to Beetlejuice, but this tale about alter ego and greed generates more morbid and sexual content than a real sense of ghoulish fun or panic.
