Mon, Sept 13, The Business
Blue Lamp, 9 p.m., $10
Those of you convinced that punk rock is dead should make an appearance at this show. Southeast London’s the Business are early mainstays of oi!, a British street-punk movement of the late ’70s and ’80s and have released 12 studio albums and appear on more than 50 street-punk compilations. The Business are also big with U.K. football hooligans; its biggest recent hit “England 5, Germany 1” was based on a World Cup qualifying match. With rough, straight-to-the-point, cockney-garbled lyrics and bare-bones head-banging arrangements, the Business are bringing the revival across the pond. Also performing are the Hollowpoints and Drastic Actions. 1400 Alhambra Boulevard, www.myspace.com/businessoi.
