I really don’t want to oversell Vancouver, Canada’s White Lung. Despite its talent for brash, in-your-face, loud and obnoxious punk rock, I believe there is room for improvement. Looking around online at some of the reviews of this band, nominated for Punk/Hardcore Artist/Group of the Year at the 2011 Canadian Music Week Indie Awards, you’ll find bloggers using words like “fresh” and “exciting.” But the band is just three, crazy, fantastic female musicians and one goofy-looking heartthrob guitar geek making imperfect, innocent and fun tunes. And though they come from a foreign land, they come in peace and bring tidings of mosh pits. 2574 21st Street, www.whitelung.ca.
