The first record I ever wrote a review for was the Smiths 1987 album Strangeways, Here We Come (for my school newspaper). I still own my original copy of the 1984 singles and rarities compilation Hatful of Hollow on cassette. The former Smiths vocalist is more bigheaded and humorless than ever but still an amazing songwriter. Morrissey was originally slated to play here last fall but rescheduled due to his mother's ill health. Now, the aging Brit is calling in sick, canceling dates left and right.
