Mia Doi Todd’s haunting mezzo-soprano has cast a bright shadow over the Los Angeles music scene for more than a decade, from a pair of well-received albums for Columbia Records in the early 2000s to a memorable remix album, La Ninja: Amor & Other Dreams of Manzanita, which featured contributions from Flying Lotus, Daedelus and others. Her latest, Cosmic Ocean Ship, includes Joni Mitchell-styled folk lullabies and dreamy Latin American homage.
