Molto bene
A few hours after Italy won the World Cup, it seemed like Midtown had filled with little green-white-and-red flags, fluttering from the windows of cars that roamed the grid to honk and gloat at passersby—without really going anywhere in particular. This weekend, local Italians and those who love or want to be like them have a definite destination for proud revelry: the Festa Italiana. Now in its 21st year, the Sacramento Italian Cultural Society’s annual food and music festival takes place Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., at 3730 Auburn Boulevard. Play the bocce. Hear the music. Scope out the sports cars. Take the cannoli. And, yes, make the dumb jokes like that, which everybody’s heard a million times but will forgive you for anyway. Admission is $7. Call (916) 482-5900 or visit www.italiancenter.net for more information.
