Mission: Impossible 2

This sequel is totally unlike its enjoyable predecessor. Tom Cruise returns as Ethan Hunt, with the great director John Woo working his action magic. This film is not as complicated as the first, but features the best motorcycle and rock-climbing sequences ever put to the screen. That’s enough to put this one well over the top for me, and getting to look at Thandie Newton for two hours is a major bonus. Cruise does most of his own stunts, and he is one daring bastard. He’s also pretty good at Kung Fu fighting. It’s dumb as hell, but that won’t prevent the eager viewer from having a blast.
