Midtown’s pits
As a recovering vegetarian, I view barbecue as making up for lost time. So when My BBQ Spot (2502 J Street) opened three weeks ago, I felt compelled to sample their brisket. The verdict: It’s cut into small bits, with a only a few fatty pieces, and served on a standard bun with OK fries, a side (get the goopy mac ’n’ cheese) and a drink for $7.95 during lunch hours. Note: Spicy means spicy.
