For the gentle reader in the market for some gentle sounds, thoughtful Portland singer-songwriter Brenda Weiler will play The Space, 2509 R Street, on Wednesday, December 10. It’s a release party for her new Virt Records CD Cold Weather. The show starts at 7 p.m. Bring a warm blanket and $10. Meanwhile, for those who’d prefer a little more aggro approach to music, the traveling Chicago industrial circus Pigface does The Boardwalk at 9426 Greenback Lane in Orangevale on Friday, December 5. The show starts at 8:30 p.m., tickets are $15, and never-mellow bands Dope and Luxt are also on the menu. Finally, twisted Southern duo Jucifer plays the Capitol Garage, 1427 L Street, on Thursday, December 4, at 9 p.m., with Tough Guy Fantasy and Racebannon. The cover’s $7.
