Measure for Measure

Shakespeare’s most problematic “problem” play—it can’t quite decide whether it’s a comedy or a tragedy—gets a thorough revamping from the Big Idea Theatre troupe. They take advantage of double (and in some cases, triple) casting to explore the binaries and unveil the reality: No one’s all bad, or all good. We’re a mixed bag. Blair Leatherwood is a Duke you wouldn’t want to work for; Jeffrey Lloyd Heatherly is his deputy, the compromised Angelo; and Brian Harrower steals the show as a campy executioner.
