Mastering many tongues

In January, the language-learning tool Mango Languages became available for free via the Sacramento Public Library. It's got classes on more than 35 world languages, plus a course for learners of English as a second language. It's accessible on the Web, or via iOS and Android mobile apps. So far, I'm learning French and Italian for an upcoming trip, and it's pretty useful. There are grammar tips, useful phrases for travelers and cultural notes for when to use—or not use—certain phrases. www.saclibrary.org/research/language-learning.
