Martha Scanlan was the lead singer and main songwriter for Reeltime Travelers, a string band that walked the fine line between traditional and modern mountain music with finesse and style. Her songs continue to impress on this solo debut with their old-time acoustic feel, finely wrought lyrics and understated vocals. Her voice sounds wise beyond its years, a fragile instrument that makes the songs here seem as old as the hills and as bright as the lights on Nashville’s main drag.
