Yes, that was a 45-foot fish tank sticking out of a K Street building’s facade last Furlough Friday morning. The aquarium cost some $20,000 to transport from storage to its new downtown home at the forthcoming Dive Bar—though movers couldn’t squeeze it into the location on first try. The George Kapaty-owned Dive began accepting applications for living mermaids (and mermen) to fill the tank last week, too. The city of Sacramento subsidized Dive Bar and its neighbors with $5.7 million last year.
