Once upon a time, local filmmaker Joe Gillis miraculously secured the rights to make a film version of the nationally successful Peter Dee play Voices From the High School, and a Sacramento production was born. The finished product, starring Sacramento actors and accompanied by Sacramento musicians, can be viewed at the premiere screening (ooh la la Sassoon!) at the Crest Theatre. The film, preceded by Gillis’ short 9 Items or Less, plays Saturday at 7:30 p.m. FYI to the local music scenesters: the soundtrack features a score by David Houston and songs by Kevin Seconds, the Knockoffs, David Baxley and Bobby Jordan. 1013 K St. Call 442-7378 or visit www.jowagiproductions.com for more information.
