Synergy Stage and the Delta King Theatre (on the riverboat in Old Sacramento) are bringing back Fortune’s Fools, the romantic comedy that marked the re-opening of the theater and the debut of Synergy in January 2000. Three of the original four cast members—Stephanie Gularte, Peter Mohrmann and David Harris—return for this revival, joined by Lynn Baker. The show, which deals with courtship and marriage (including a few skirmishes in the war between the sexes), proved popular last year during the run-up to Valentine’s Day. The producers are hoping that it will also display some end-of-summer audience appeal. There’s a preview performance at 7:30 p.m. on Friday night ($8 show only, $35 dinner with show), followed by the opening at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday ($16-$14 show only, $41 dinner with show) and a Sunday matinee at 2:30 p.m. ($16-$14 show only, $32 brunch with show).
