Little Stevie Orbit
The lights of Greenwich Village have pulled in many young Americans toting acoustic guitar, including some guy named Zimmerman from Minnesota and a bunch who followed in his wake. One of those, Steve Forbert, was hailed briefly as a “new Dylan” in the late 1970s, but a quarter-century of hard road and late-night songs later, it cannot be denied that Forbert has come into his own. He’s good. He must be a favorite of someone down at Marilyn’s at 1177 K St., too, because he played there last year and the club has booked him again Wednesday, July 18. Show starts at 7 p.m., doors open at 5 p.m., admission is $15. Sound like your cuppa?
