Legally Blonde

While this film is a series of recycled fish-out-of-water gimmicks, Reese Witherspoon is fun as Elle Wood, a fashion major who gets into Harvard Law School. Had anybody else played this role, this film would’ve probably been intolerable, but Witherspoon makes the mundane antics enjoyable. Luke Wilson provides decent support as a potential suitor, and the film actually has a few major laughs, which is more than I was expecting. If you don’t like courtroom comedies and spit upon My Cousin Vinny, this isn’t for you. If Reese Witherspoon doesn’t float your boat, you must stay away. I must admit: I thought it was cute.
