Legacy Youth Project

One of our favorite local traditions is the annual Legacy production of Images Theatre Company, which showcases the African-American experience with music and dance. Now Images Theater Company has secured funding for the Legacy Youth Project, which aims to provide young people from communities that are underserved by the arts an opportunity to tread the boards. Funded by grants from AT&T and Union Pacific Railroad, teens and young adults began working with the members of the Images Theater Company on a production of their own. The Legacy Youth Project show will run at 8 p.m. Friday, June 4 and Saturday, June 5, with a 3 p.m. matinee on Sunday, June 6. Shows are at the Guild Theater, 2828 35th Street, with tickets for $10.
