Self-taught artist Laura Caron’s paintings look like they are influenced by many styles, including fauvism, but she was also inspired by the quilts her two sisters made. “They have tried to get me to join them, but I never had the patience for quilting,” she states in a press release. Instead, she began incorporating fabric into her paintings, resulting in multilayered and textured imagery. Her work shows with paintings by Anne Blue and sculptures by Garley at Gallery 2110 this month.
