Have you appreciated your local brew mistress lately? Rubicon Brewing Company is hoping you’ll do just that on Saturday, April 25, for their third annual Women in Brewing event. They’ve invited women in the beer-brewing industry to bring their beers for a showcase all day at the Rubicon (2004 Capitol Avenue). Stop by for breakfast, lunch or dinner to try a dozen or so beers brewed by women, such as an Auburn Alehouse red or a smoked vanilla porter from Stone Brewing Co. in Escondido. Brenda and Darcy from Rubicon brewed a couple of special beers as well: a giant IPA and a Baltic porter. Lost in translation? Look for some special guests on the patio that day and ask them about their brews. There will also be a silent auction with items donated by local businesses to support Women Escaping a Violent Environment (WEAVE).
