Keeping the Faith

Edward Norton makes his feature directorial debut with this somewhat dopey, yet often charming and funny story about a priest (Norton) and a rabbi (Ben Stiller) who fall for the same woman (Jenna Elfman). Norton and Stiller are good together, and Elfman is a very engaging actress. It’s a cut above the usual romantic comedy, and Norton shows flair for comic directing. Won’t win any awards for major originality, but it will make you laugh often and perhaps ponder switching religions.
