Keep your pants on

Graham-a-Rama, the fantastic cabaret series run by local musician/director/impresario Graham Sobelman, brings a reprise of its production of In Trousers (In Concert) to the Cosmopolitan Cabaret for a two-night stand, with the first show on Monday. It’s a fantastic use of an otherwise dark night for the upscale venue, and In Trousers (In Concert) is just the right sort of grown-up fun for the space. In Trousers is the first of the three-part “Marvin” series of musicals by William Finn; the second two parts became the musical Falsettos. Sobelman has cast local favorite Jerry Lee as Marvin, with Jessica Crouch (Miss Goldberg), Danielle Hansen (Sweetheart) and Maggie Hollinbeck (The Wife). And while it is a concert version, the outstanding vocals and abilities of this group make it an extremely rich experience, as satisfied audiences who saw it at the much-smaller Geery Theatre earlier this year can attest. Make plans to catch In Trousers (In Concert)—but get a baby sitter, please. It’s recommended for mature audiences.
