Kaki King

Kaki King is officially a guitar goddess. When Rolling Stone magazine chose its list of “New Guitar Gods” in 2007, King was the youngest on the list—and the only female. Not that lists or labels matter: King’s guitar playing melds fingerpicking, slapping and even rocking out. Other times, she’s a one-woman band, creating percussive loops and bass lines, layered with guitar riffs. On top of that, she’s a sad crooner, like Karen Carpenter or Norah Jones.
