K-PAX
A mental patient (Kevin Spacey) claims to be from another planet, and a psychiatrist (Jeff Bridges) conducts an obsessive investigation into his background to see if he’s a genuine alien or a great storyteller. This film is a hybrid of countless other movies, and it doesn’t have an original sequence in its entire running time. Spacey is showboating here, and I’m starting to wonder if his best days as an actor are already behind him. Bridges is just too good for this crap, and considering that he starred in Starman and The Fisher King, one gets a true sense of been there-done that with his presence. A pretentious bore of a movie, and Spacey’s second lousy one in a row after Pay it Forward.
