Jury Duty After Lunch
Through high dusty windows
of the jury waiting room,
white tatters of late-winter rain
drift slowly north—
beyond Nevada City,
Camp Far West,
Rough & Ready,
Higgins Corner, and French Corral.
Soon the public address will speak:
There will be much talk
this afternoon,
but little said of clouds.
