Jurassic Park 3D
A billionaire (Richard Attenborough) builds an island park with live dinosaurs cloned from prehistoric DNA, and he invites three scientists (Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Sam Neill) to tour it; they all end up trapped by a power failure and stalked by the park's exhibits. Steven Spielberg's 1993 classic from Michael Crichton's novel (script by Crichton and David Koepp) is the latest to get gussied up with digital 3-D, and they've done a pretty good job with it. The gilding was hardly necessary, of course, but it's a good excuse to see it again on the big screen. Twenty years of refining the movie's pioneering CGI effects have done nothing to dim their power; this may be, when all is said and done, just a BS dinosaur movie—but it is without a doubt the best damn BS dinosaur movie anybody ever made.
