Jinn
A young man adopted in childhood (Dominic Rains) receives a videotape from the biological father he never knew, warning him of sinister forces at work and a family curse reaching back for generations. The man and his wife (Serinda Swan) follow a trail of clues to two mysterious individuals (Ray Park, William Atherton) with secret knowledge. Supposedly based on some eastern legend, the script by director Ajmal Zaheer Ahmad is composed entirely of incoherent gobbledygook. The digital effects look like they were created on a 1984 Macintosh, and performances seldom rise above the amateurish. In fact, a more amateurish movie on every level, from writing to sound recording, is hard to imagine. There's the aura of a vanity production by people with more money than talent—and not enough money at that.
