Wallflowers in the burbs
Royer Park
190 Park Dr.Roseville, CA 95678
In the mood for some serious teenage angst? Roseville’s Alternative Arts Collective (home of the edgiest theater you’ll find in the burbs) is bringing The Perks of Being a Wallflower to the stage for an ultrashort run this Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Based on one of the most frequently censored young-adult books, Wallflower is based on a series of letters that the narrator, Charlie, writes to an unknown person describing his life. It includes all sorts of pop-culture references, plus a number of American literature’s greatest hits. The play is not recommended for audiences under 15, and is in the Royer Arts Center in Royer Park, 190 Park Drive in Roseville. A donation is requested at the door. For more information, call (916) 538-8013.
