It’s collaboration time

There’s nothing we like more than a bit of collaboration in the local theater community. Look at what happened when Graham Sobelman of the Graham-a-rama cabaret series teamed up with Connor Mickiewicz at New Helvetia Theatre: They made the stage (and the fire codes) go boom! Or Ray Tatar at California Stage’s brilliant collaboration with Kurt Weill expert Angelina Réaux for the raving-Willie production of The Threepenny Opera. Well, get ready for another collaborating highlight, because Eric Baldwin of Resurrection Theatre and Ally Krumm, managing director at Fourth Stage, are teaming up to produce Lanford Wilson’s Burn This as a co-production of the two companies. Even better, they’ve signed on Lisa Thew, a co-director of KOLT Run Productions (and director of their recent smash hit, Crime & Punishment), to direct. They’re planning a June 4 opening at the Wilkerson Theatre in the California Stage complex. Expect some serious fireworks.
