It’s a whirlwind world tour

They look like the sort who’d travel the world without leaving the stage.

There are only two weekends left to catch a madcap race around the planet under the night sky at the Kennedy Mine Amphitheatre. Five busy actors create a galaxy of characters in this fast-moving adventure. Around the World in 80 Days is a breathless story, borrowed from the Jules Verne novel and seasoned with 19th century chivalry and punctuality. The outdoor setting (frogs croaking under a dark sky) lends oomph to the jungle scenes. You’ll “see” ocean-going vessels and steam trains created from thin air. The cast includes Equity and former Equity actors. This version doesn’t quite equal the old, fondly recalled B Street production (with live sound effects) but it’s nonetheless a superior show.
