It’s the time of year to brush off the dust of the past and usher in the new. A few local art galleries are sharing that sentiment this month by showcasing new talent. In an exhibit entitled What to See in 2003, the Solomon Dubnick Gallery features eight of the gallery’s fresh newcomers: Robert Bowen, Chad Lenzi, Marjorie Methven, Kathleen Stock, Ann Rea, Carrie Cottini and the collaborative team of Inguna Skuja and Melissa Braden. The work, of a quality that one can expect from a topnotch gallery, ranges from more traditional, rich still lifes and colorful landscapes to elaborately painted sculptural vessels and moody, expressionist paintings. The gallery is located at 2131 Northrop Avenue, and the show runs through February 1.
