Here’s a rare chance to meet Del Shores, the comedian and playwright behind such favorites as Southern Baptist Sissies and Sordid Lives. His first play, Daddy’s Dyin’ … Who’s Got the Will? was made into a film in 1990, and Sordid Lives became both a movie and a television series on the Logo Channel. Perhaps not coincidentally, Sordid Lives was one of Lambda Theatre’s most successful productions ever, with extended runs in both the original production and the recent revival. Jason Dottley and Lambda Players are bringing Del Shores to the stage in a fundraiser this Sunday night, August 2, at The Studio Theatre, 1028 R Street.
