In Good Company

Two men undergo radical changes in their personal and professional lives in this seriocomic story about the generational gaps in our workforce and the surprises and ironies of life. Dennis Quaid stars as Dan Foreman, a 53-year-old ad-sales manager for a major sports magazine who is demoted after a corporate takeover and also learns that his wife (Marg Helgenberger) is pregnant. Topher Grace plays Carter Duryea, a 26-year-old business-graduate prodigy who is promoted from within the new conglomerate to Dan’s former job and simultaneously is dumped by his wife. The uneasy relationship of these white-collar gladiators is then tested when Carter begins an affair with Dan’s 18-year-old daughter (Scarlett Johansson). This alternately clever and predictable tale is written and directed by Paul Weitz (About a Boy and American Pie).
