My Children! My Africa!

The play consists mainly of dialogues and long monologues, occasionally becoming uncharacteristically teachy-preachy, but the play strongly advances South African playwright Athol Fugard's belief in the power of hope and the potential of youth. It took 10 years, but a decade after this play was first performed in 1989, apartheid ended in South Africa.
